Spiderman Song
As we all know Porter thinks he is Spiderman and Mike thinks he's a rockstar. If you combine the two you get this cute little tune.
$25 Van
In June we were able to score this bad boy from Mike's Sis JoAnn, and her husband, Mike. JoAnn's husband got her a new ride for mother's day and they had this extra piece of machinery laying around. (i doubt it was really just laying around) but they offered to let us have it. After hours and hours of haggling. We were able to talk them down to 25 dollars! :) just kidding, it was all out of the kindness of their hearts! We LOVE it. It is way less noisy than the Ford Focus, the windows roll down, the air conditioning works, it doesn't fill the car with smoke when you use the breaks. I was driving the truck around and, for a pregnant woman with a three year old to buckle in, it's a dream come true. I don't care that the van is a mormon-mom-mobile! It's so practical and...$25!Thursday, July 16, 2009
Earwigs

Well, this is what we have been living with. Since it rained most of June, they are coming out for reunions in our whole house. They usually come around in the summer time, mostly in the basement. But this year they are a nightmare. We had our room and Porter's room and the baby's crib in the unfinished basement for about 2 months, since the girls moved. But since these little critters have been taking over our lives and I found one crawling out of my pillow, I decided it wasn't worth it. So we moved our room back to the living room and Porter and the baby are in the one bedroom. It's much better. We got the house sprayed last week, but I am still finding the little buddies on the fridge, on our fruit, crawling out of cabinets, on the doorknobs and even in the sheets. And THAT is all UPSTAIRS, where it's "not that bad". It's driving me crazy. For the last month my dreams have basically consisted of Dramatized Labor and Dramatized Earwigs. Some of you know that I am GROSSED out by critters....and usually trap them under a cup until mike gets home to take care of it. But since I've had Porter, I've had to get a little more brave and kill it myself and now that Porter is 3-He'll just take care of it for me. It's been an interesting evolution of pest control around here.

Five Years of Marital Bliss
Our anniversary was the 28th of May and I have to say it was my favorite one so far. Mike had the new van all clean and tidy, since we had just taken the jaunt to St. George in it, and a sweet note. Also a week or two later he had this little video all made up dedicated to me! :) Mike wrote the song just for me!
Then on the 29th, my sisters: Vic (and her fiance Chris), Mer and Manda watched Porter, bought our tickets to see Angels and Demons, and had our kitchen made into a "restaurant" for a candlelight dinner of Navaho Tacos. (Yummy) and some cheesecake (Also Yummy). Later that night Mer and Manda had arranged a dance routine to the song "HOT AND COLD" by Katy Perry, (because that is the song they dedicated to me.) Video NOT included because they refused. :)
SIDE NOTE: This is also the night porter stomped 11 chucker chicks to death with his soccer cleats because they didn't like him.

UP!

Today we took the girls to the airport. They are on their way home after 11 months of life with the Cranney's. Afterward, we walked in the door and were pretty depressed. The weather was rainy and gloomy and the house was empty and quiet. We didn't know what to do--either call my mom and say "We can't do it, send them back!" or get out of the house to get our minds off of it. So...we went to see the movie "UP!" which was pretty cute. But on our drive home from the movies Mike says "it just feels like someone died and life will never go on." We are still recovering with a lonely night of TV in the backround and a little blog stocking to keep my mind off the boring life without teenagers yapping in my ear.

We are 29 weeks
St. George
We went to St. George over memorial Day weekend. It all started when our awesome $25 van arrived. We thought..."we need to celebrate by taking this sweet ride to explore the world!" So since Grandmother Cranney has a condo in St. George and we had an extra day of no school-- St. George, Utah was the pick city. It was BEAUTIFUL weather. We swam A LOT. Played Phase 10 and enjoyed the Cable TV and the wonderful air conditioning. We saw the coolest movie ever (NOT): Race to Witch Mountain. But thanks to Mike's bro-Keylo, who works at the theatre, it was free!
"BEST TRIP EVER!"
We got some funny video of Porter being Spiderman:
and some swimming activities:
