Saturday: Soccer Games and Pedicures

Saturday we got to see our nephew and niece play soccer in Murray. Bridger didn't have any games so Porter got to play with him for a while-until poor Bridger was so worn out from the allergy meds and the running around he fell asleep on the ground.
Porter loves his cousins a lot! He got them each an apple juice and was so excited to give it to them. And a random bonus gift-- he brought ONE cherry tomato from the garden just for Bridger.
During Lindsey's game I got some advice from an OB nurse on what to do to go into labor. She said "go walk those bleachers." So Porter and I played on the stairs. I was pretty slow, and it obviously didn't do a dang thing.
It was so good to see Jen and Al and their kids! They are an awesome little family and since they live in Vernal, it's great to see them whenever we get a chance.

Later that day...I treated myself to a haircut and a well deserved pedicure. I got to go with my sister-in-law, Liz, her oldest, Sadie (7 and 1/2) and my friend Jodi. My close friends and family know that my feet leave a lot to be desired. I had an ingrown toenail when i was a teenager, which was cut out and my feet were goofy looking before that anyway. So...needless to say being prego and not able to take care of these bad boys has left them cracked, scratchy and bleeding....UNTIL TODAY!
In total I have tried a LOT of things to go into labor:
Castor Oil, Pineapple, walking, jumping on the tramp, pedicure, back massage...etc etc etc. I will let you know if one of them work as soon as they start to. :)

Fred The Turtle

On Friday we took a little walk down the street to Uncle Fred and Aunt Char's house. Turns out we had visited just in time. Uncle Fred had just found a little turle roaming around. And who do you think he gave it too? That's right...Porter Cranney. I can't explain my own excitement for the new little critter. (NOT!)

Despite my dislike for slimy creatures that live outside, it is REALLY cute how much Porter loves the little guy (who we have decided to name Fred). Porter watched a movie with him yesterday and we all had family lunch after church with him today. He had a light lunch of lettuce and we had BLTs--Ts straight from the garden. Fred gets a lot of attention from Porter but the poor thing looks really bored in his cage. We are still trying to think of a good way to get rid of him, but it's just so cute how happy it makes Porter that it's hard to give him up. I never thought my love for my son would outweigh my dislike for pets...but I guess life is full of surprises. To be Continued...

One Week!

Today I can tell they baby is dropping. He isn't sitting quite so high. Lots of Contractions. But I forgot to tell the Castor Oil Story.
On Wednesday night--9days til due. I took castor oil. I held my nose so it didn't taste like anything. AND for some reason I didn't get sick either. I DID have contractions for 3 plus hours that were starting at 6 minutes apart. But by the last hour they were sparatic and not as consistant. This happened after I had my bags packed for the hospital. Of course nothing ever came of it.

8 Days Left: Visit to Dr.

There aren't pics, but a little update (more for my own memory, because It's fleating)

I am a 2 and 50% and the baby's head is engaged. Mike still wants to get induced on Monday, I still want to wait. So...what did the Dr. say? "Here's the number, you can call Sunday night with your decision." I have decided to wait. Baby looks good though.

10 Days Left: A Trip to the Dr's Office

Today we went to the Dr's Office. Mike brought the camera to document the event. I said "why did you bring the camera?" and he said "so that next time you want to have a baby, I can show you these pictures and you will not want to." and I said "you mean I'll look at these pictures and remember how radiant I looked."
This is us buckling in...
This is us getting out of the car, going into the building...

This is Porter waiting with us...

This is Mike and Porter entertaining themselves.

It turns out this little appointment took 2 and a half hours! :/
What we found out: still a 1.5 and he couldn't feel the babies head so he had moved back up in my womb. The dr. wheeled in the ultrasound machine to see if he might be breach...luckily, he is still head down. The biggest thing about these last appointments is that my Dr. scheduled my appointment to be induced on Monday-August 10th! I am trying to be very patient and let nature take his course--I would rather go into labor on my own. Well, today was significant because the Dr. said "Due to your history, I would like to get the baby out at soon as I can." (Porter's water in his placenta was low, which is why I had to be induced with him.) He did say there isn't a huge risk, but still a risk and that he would tell his wife or daughter to get the baby out. He said "I'm a Dr., I am suppose to worry, don't do anything that you're not comfortable with. Do what you want to do, I'm not trying to pressure you into it." he patted my feet and left me to the decision.

Of course I don't want to put the baby in any danger, but I don't want to be induced! I have waited 9 months, I want an experience out of it, not a lay in bed and watch a movie while my baby is born day. Anyway, he said come back in two days and we'll check on him again, and you can let me know what you wanna do....

Mike's Take: just do it on Monday
Jenn's Take: wait.

Cranney Family Campout 2009

This past weekend we went up to Strawberry Resevior for the Annual Cranney Family Campout. Despite the fact that I am 9 months preggy, and it rained a bunch, it was SO MUCH FUN! I did misplace my camera after only one day, so not all of the Cranney's get their fame today. Thanks Sass and Glendon for an awesome partay!

Activities:
The Amazing Race
Crafts with Grandma
Boating
Playing in the Lake
Biking all around the Campground

Funny Stories to Remember:
Mike tripped over a hole in the grass while carrying his food,.He completely biffed it but managed to fold his breakfast plate like a taco and save his grub!

Mike also managed to biff it in the water while wake boarding and strained his neck pretty bad. He was nearly out of commission for the rest of the campout (and still whining about it today).

Porter and Jayden decided they both had to pee during their play time in the woods, so they both whipped it out and showed off their little buns. (We got the camera in time to catch them pullin' their pants up.)

Baby Wyatt is 10 months old and his bed is in the shower/bath of Liz and Spencer's trailor (so cute!)

Levi, is one of the most active little 18 month olds you'll ever meet.

While I was napping and Mike was boating our awesome sis Jen took the little ones to the lake and let them play for hours! Isn't she a fun aunt?

Jenn Cranney was the Champion of Scumb this year. (Auld's RULE!)

Bridger learned from his uncle Mike how to smart off, telling a fellow camper to "show him the rule book" when asked to not ride his bike by the bathroom. This being after Mike called another fellow camper a "jackass" after the gentleman complained about the generator.

Glendon still cruises a super sweet bike with a kid carrier on the back, and also....got his ropes stolen. Here's a note about Glendon Lamb; one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, gets crap stolen from him CONSTANTLY.

Grandma Cranney and Teens watched all the little kids while all of the adults went on a boat ride! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Thank You!

Boston Hancock

Welp, SIX DAYS LATE, Kari Havens Hancock gave birth to her first little babe, Boston Hancock, yesterday--July 18th, 09. She is seen here in the wedding dress. I am just so excited that he finally came out that I wanted to pay her a little tribute.

Kari is one of my roommates from College (utah state university). We have been through a lot together. This little group shown in the pic are some of my best friends! There is NOTHING like my college roommates, they are great friends, like sisters, and I miss seeing them and laughing with them and even fighting with them! :) just kidding--we never fought! :)

Kari married Kade, who Mike grew up with. So Jenn, from Kansas and Kari from Virginia, --who became friends in Utah married boys from Vernal. Pretty crazy, huh?

Anyway, I have been talking to Kari every day for the last little while waiting for her special day and it finally came! She is the fourth of us to join the wonderful world of motherhood. Congrats Kari!

Porter's Opinion:
I showed Porter the pics of Boston, yesterday, and he thought he was so cute. He said "mom, can we have two Bostons?" meaning, can we name our baby Boston? and I told him that would be fun, huh?
Today I said, "Port, should we just name our baby Andrew?" and he said "uhmm...no, what's Kari's baby's name?" I said "Boston." He said "yeah, I know what you're talking about, Boston, can there be two Bostons?"

Kari, I guess Porter approves of your name. You should be flattered since his other favs are: Butch, Peter Parker and the Hulk. :)
