Valentine's In Logan

This year My Babe surprised us with a trip to Logan, Utah. Where it all began. We met in the fall of 2003 and the rest is history. Mike is my BEST friend and I am so glad that he is my man! We were so excited to be in Logan, we documented every minute!

Here's our journey stepping out of the car from the hour long trip and walking into Mike's favorite Mexican place, Cafe Sabor.
Here we are hanging out in cafe sabor.
After lunch we went to First Dam to throw the frisbie and go on a hike. Too bad it was actually pretty cold, so we only got out for a much shorter time than we wanted. Andrew was so cute all bundled up. We walked up a path until the snow covered it. Mike and Porter raced and after that was the meltdown, (seen in the far right picture). We had a great time!
Then we took a tour of Logan, where Mike worked, where I worked, were we lived. Porter took this photo of us in our first apartment as a couple. 18 Aggie Village apt. C. We explained what college was and how it is different than preschool. Porter said "oh like Max" from "an Extremely Goofy Movie". He's so smart!
Then we enjoyed a few Blue Bird Chocolates on our way out of town. Laurel and I have converted Mike to fancy chocolate this month and it is nice to see him understand a little more of my heart. :)

Thanks for the Rad Valentines, Babe! You're such a sweetie! Love you!

these videos are Mike and Porter's race and Andrew with his fake cough. The race isn't a good spectator video, it's on here just so that when we are old we can watch it. But Andrew might be worth watching. He didn't perform that great for the camera, but he's so cute anyway.

Kenedy's Birthday Party

Kenedy Bird turned 4 today and we were lucky enough to go to her super awesome birthday party and the Kangaroo Zoo. It's this giant room with assorted blow up slides and obstacle courses. Porter had a great time for HOURS running around with his friends. Andrew got to jump around a little too. I got to hang out with some great gals and Kenedy was a cute little birthday girl! Thanks for inviting us to your party. It was so much fun!

Kenedy opening presents
bubbles came floating out when we sang happy birthday to Kenedy
Porter enjoying his cupcake, don't judge him, he doesn't know about "the finger"
we can always get a picture of Porter picking-I will miss this someday.

Milestones

This morning PORTER hit a milestone. Not only is our oldest kid in Primary at church now, but he got to share his favorite scripture in front of the entire Junior Primary.
"My favorite scripture story is Daniel and the Lion's Den."
Daniel 6:22
"My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me"
"If we do what God asks us, He will protect us."
I am so proud to be Porter's mommy. I was so happy to be there with him, grinning ear to ear. Giving eachother the thumbs up. I just think my little guy is so GREAT. As all parents think there children are the neatest thing--I AM FOR SURE among them!

ANDREW hit his milestone a couple of days ago when two of the cutest little teethies broke through his bottom gums. He has been such an angel as he struggles through the pain! :) Well, not really an angel, but we still love him, even though he seems to be wearing us out in every possible way!

Thanks Grandma Cranney for the DARLING matching ties! They are SO CUTE! We got lots of compliments today!

Valentine Scavenger Hunt

Mike and I got to spend a night with our great pals, the Birds, the Halls, the Jone's, and the Whitings. The girls got together and planned a Valentine scavenger hunt. It was fun. The 2 teams were Boys vs. Girls. I'm not going to tell you who won....but I wasn't on the winning team. We did little chores like:
-helping people with groceries
-putting all the cards at a grocery store away *I'll never forget Chalyse's run
-find and take a picture of a couple kissing
-find and take a picture of something you could put on a conversation heart *"panty secrets"
-and my personal favorite part was going to DI and finding great treasures, trying them on and we all complimented eachother. I wish I had the footage from this but,
Chaylse found a LOT of animal print
Kathy found a beautiful wedding dress
Jen Whiting looked like a teacher
Heidi looked like she was trying to be cool in her puffy vest and flowered pants
I found a great jean/country outfit with a short jean skirt that DID NOT fit.

So much fun. The only two photos we have from this experience what the boys took of the DI and the "couple kissing" Mike ran up to Chalyse at the DI, grabbed her and laid one on her and the boys snapped a pic. Pretty cleaver, no wonder they won....I mean....uhh....cheated.

Afterwards we met at the Birds and had yummy soup and fondue, played some games and had a grand ol' time.

Happy 28th Birthday Mikie!

Mikie is 28! Wow, this year was hard for both of us. We are realizing that we are nearing thirty years old. It's just a weird feeling leaving your 20s. Remember when you were in high school and what you thought your life would be like when you were 30? I thought I would be older than I am. But I did picture me being happily married with kids running around the house. Turns out the house isn't what I had in mind, but the dream Husband and kids are even better than I dreamed of!

Mike said he did NOT want to celebrate his birthday. It was too depressing and nothing worth celebrating. We still made him lots of cards and THANKS to Chalyse we got to go out for din din and walk around the DI while she watched the boys. It was a fun day. I just hope that my babe knows how special he is and how very glad I am that he was born! Love ya babe! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy 4th Birthday P-Brain

Porter had such a fun little birthday party. His guests included
Logan
Baylin
Tommy Sito
Kenedy
Talmage
and of course ma, pa and andra.

Porter had very specific requests for his birthday: To be addressed as "the birthday boy", to have a Pinata just like Logan, to have a Transformer birthday cake, and to have Pizza for dinner.

"birthday boy"-check, we called him this all week

pinata-I pined over this for weeks because I didn't want to make one or buy one, so I thought of the easiest way out. I turned an American Eagle sack inside out, drew some fancy transformers on one side and P and his dad fishin' on the other side. We put a string from the handles and hung it from the ceiling. It was a hit! I am glad he is only four and doesn't know the difference.

cake-he wanted red cake (cause that's his favorite color) so it was a red velvet with cream cheese frosting. The kiddies didn't dig it too much. There were lots of un-eaten plates and Porter only had one bite. oops.

Mike is such a neat dad. He made a spiderweb with red yarn so all the kids untangled the web and found a kit kat at the end. (Porter's favorite candy bar) After all the playing we still had some extra time left so Mike put his "awesome dad" hat back on and played hide and seek and duck-duck-goose with the kids while I cleaned up the messes. He is so great! I scored big time with that guy.

Later we had a family party with Liz's family and Grandma and Grandpa Cranney. We had Papa John's Pizza --thanks to papa's for the complimentary birthday pizzas! It was fun to get to celebrate with friends and family. Next year will be so different. All new friends and the other side of the family. Porter is already looking forward to being "4 and a half".
