YW Basketball

rachel, kalie, brianne, lucy, cassie and meggan
the girls with their proud coach
This is what we came up with for the goofy picture. Now they will always be able to make me laugh.
I had the wonderful privilege of being the young women's basketball coach this past February for my church. I don't know ANYTHING about basketball. I didn't know what fouls were, I didn't know the rules. BUT it was so fun to learn and to spend some extra time with these funny chickies.
Yesterday we had our Regions Game. The last game of the season. We had to forfeit because there were only three girls, some girls were called in so they got to play for fun. I am one proud couch.
I have been so lucky to get to know these girls. Since they were in primary I have gotten to learn about them, laugh with them and get made fun of by them. These girls are the most WONDERFUL girls! I love them all! I get a tear in my eye when I think of what wonderful personalities and beautiful hearts these girls have. I am just so thankful I have gotten to know them!

Romnee and Andrew. Is it Love?

Probably not. Look how nervous Romnee is. These two are four months apart. Heidi was so sweet and came to help me clean on Thursday. I can't believe how much work two people can get done. Kathy and Brittney are to thank too because they had our four year olds while we worked. I love having such great friends! I will miss them Tremendously!

Uh-Andrew is the Cutest!

Andrew.
Andrew Sneezing.

Andrew's teethies. This is also what we call the "cry laugh". He is upset, but still thinks we are funny enough to laugh at.
Andrew keeps sucking on his upper lip, like it's a binky.
This video is Andrew sucking on his lip. It's so cute!

Steve and Laurel went on their mission to Guatamala Saturaday. We saw them Friday night before they left. We went to Golden Corral and then to their hotel where we finalized some things and enjoyed their company for a few more minutes. We already miss them horribly! These two are WONDERFUL parents, FABULOUS grandparents and two of the NEATEST people I know. They will benefit and love so many people in Guatemala. I am HONORED to be their daughter in law, but right now I wish I was Guatemalan.

Morning Chores

Porter has a list of Chores for the morning. Yesterday we were rushing around before preschool and he brings me this collection of things to help him groom for the day. All of them are normal, except I had to laugh when I saw the cologne.

Andrew is 6 months!

Andrew's Height: 27 in (69th percent)
Andrew's Weight: 18lbs 11 oz (70th percent)
Andrew's Head: 44 cm (54%)

ahhh....six months. where has the time gone?

I ask myself, "why don't my clothes fit?" "Why am still getting up three times a night?" "why is life still not back to normal?" I often use the "I just had a baby" excuse, but, alas. It is officially NOT okay to use that line anymore. Dang it.

As long as he is changed, fed and rested he is the happiest little guy on the earth. He is so easy to get to smile. He loves porter! He makes us smile and laugh all day long. We love our little Andra! He makes us all so happy and we just love this little guy!

Even with his stomach problems, his skin issues, his wanting to eat every hour, his wanting to sleep with mom and dad every night, his needing a binky, but using ma for comfort instead--we still wouldn't trade this sweet boy in!

For the last couple of months we have resorted to using the car seat as his bed. We have worked on timing his feedings and not allowing him to fall asleep while nursing. We have conquered all of these things and as of Sunday night, he cries himself to sleep in the crib! This has been a miracle because only 2 short months ago he would cry for hours and never fall asleep in the crib! Somehow, it has happened. His stomach is cured, his sleeping habits are cured. Now all we need is for him to stop waking up to eat and we will be back to a fairly normal life.

He hates rice cereal. But he hated being on his tummy and last month he just started rolling around.

I have decided that Andrew does what he wants, when he wants. He's got his own time table.

Porter's Training

After Liz's 5k/10k race, Liz is planning on putting on a fund raiser race for kids. It's a one mile run. Porter is so excited. He is so interested in being fast. He drinks powerade, has an "IPod", and wears my GPS watch. Mike and I go running on days that he doesn't have to be at school until 11. So Mike takes Port out for a run in between our runs. He is so excited for this race.
