We Made It

I know you have been missing my posts. I have too. I am so glad to be nearly settled in a home and almost unpacked and actually back to keeping up with the internet world. I haven't been on facebook since April and I obviously haven't really kept up on the blog all summer. I have gotten lots of texts and phone calls wondering how we are doing and all the little details about our lives. I will now update you...
Missouri is great!

We live in a cute, tiny ol' town. There are lots of old buildings and cute ol' folks that wave at you whether you are running, walking, mowing, or stealing a bike. There is a garage sale every day. At orientation they announced that this is the garage sale capital of the U.S.--You know that's our kinda town. We stopped by an auction the other day and got two antiques for a total $7.

We have mainly just been moving in for the last three weeks. It takes so much more time than I would ever like to invest and I don't ever wanna move again. I feel like I should already start preparing for the next move in two years.

Mike started school last Monday and it seemed like a pretty lonely week. I miss our friends. I miss being able to go to aerobics in the mornings, lunch at the park and playing games with our friends in the evenings. There isn't TV here either so I just have felt OUT OF TOUCH with everything. As excited as I am to have a house and to have my stuff put away and to have FINALLY gotten to medical school, I just had an overwhelming emptiness. I realized I just need to jump in and get this party started. So Friday I went to the schools' gym where I heard the moms workout...I found them and got all set up for a little deal that goes something like this: You get one day a week to babysit and the other four days you leave your kids and workout. It's soundin' like I pretty sweet gig to me and I hope to make some buddies for the boys and I.

Mike has been making fun of me for organizing the crap out of our lives. I gave everyone in the house- rules, chores, and schedules for every day of their lives. There's nothing like a good healthy schedule to get ya going. Tomorrow is Monday and that's when our new lives begin.

Jenny Penny!

Where in Missouri are you? I want to come see you. Or if you get bored you are always welcome to bring the gang to KC & stay here. I have an extra bedroom. Either way, I want to see your face & personally welcome you back to the Midwest!

Love you!
